But we’d never even consider traveling with one of those other chargers, whereas the MagSafe Duo Charger could be convenient if and when we ever travel again. The first thing that sets the MagSafe Duo Charger apart from every other wireless charging station is its compact size. Coated in soft-touch rubber, the charger consists of two 2.8-inch rounded squares with a thin hinge connecting them; you can fold it up when you aren’t using it, and the magnets hold it shut. Opened up, the charger is roughly the width of an iPhone 12 and just a little taller. Folded, it’s about 0.6 inch thick, roughly the size of a makeup compact. As long as you’re using an iPhone 12, 12 Pro, 12 Pro Max, or 12 mini—any of them without a case, or with a MagSafe-compatible case—you can’t misalign your phone. You can turn it in any orientation without disrupting its charging. The Apple Watch charger works much the same way and supports any kind of watch band. All of the stations we tested can charge an iPhone 12 in a few hours, but some are faster than others. They’re all slower than single-device wireless chargers and much slower than wired chargers.

The charging rate is 10W and white is your only colour option at the moment. Other Qi-enabled phones will work with this, but its shape and size are designed for the flagship pixels. The aluminium panels on the bottom and the air vents ensure that the device never overheats, and it stops charging if metal objects are detected, as an extra safeguard. Perhaps the best part is the price, which is very competitive for a wireless charger. It’s also well built and relatively inexpensive compared to other wireless car chargers with autosensing powered arms. The only small issue I had with this wireless charger is that while the air vent mount locks down pretty securely, if you go over a big bump and your car bounces, it will sometimes slip off. You can even cover the plate with your phone case, but make sure the case isn’t too thick or your phone won’t stick to the charger mount.

We can’t forget the impressive camera capabilities of the Galaxy S21 Ultra either. It features a quad camera with a 108MP main sensor, a telephoto, ultra-wide, and TOF sensors, topped off by 10x hybrid optical zoom. The Galaxy S21 Ultra is not only one of the best phones with wireless charging, but it’s also one of the best Android phones on the market. The Samsung Galaxy S21 series is fresh off the presses, and it’s not giving up any ground. All three devices — the Galaxy S21, S21 Plus, and S21 Ultra — feature wireless charging and double up as power banks for your wireless accessories thanks to reverse wireless charging. Samsung has gone all out and equipped its latest flagship series with many powerful specs and features.

Talking about smartphones, not every smartphone has wireless charging compatibility. The latest Samsung and Apple smartphone models come with this technology inbuilt in them. However, for those phones that do not have this inbuilt technology, you can simply buy a wireless charging phone case. Yes, you can purchase a phone case that is equipped with the wireless charging technology so that you can also use the wireless charging facility. And some don’t want an actual stand, but would prefer a Pixel 3 charging pad. That’s where the Anker PowerWave Alloy comes in, as this provides up to 15W of power and is one of the best wireless charging pads, regardless of what phone you already have. There is one catch with the PowerWave Alloy, as you’ll need to make sure you use your own AC adapter as Anker doesn’t include one in the box.
